To shift from surviving to thriving, leading restaurant brands are tackling industry challenges with new innovations in facility management software. In order to stay relevant and be efficient, facilities professionals need to be at the forefront of evolving technology trends. Here are three trends to keep an eye on so you and your team stay on top.

Takeaway 1: Asset Tagging –  Focusing on asset lifecycle management and utilizing predictive analytics data from a CMMS will be used in making purchasing, design, construction and development decisions.

Takeaway 2: Internet of Things (IoT) – IoT technology provides insights that allow for real-time monitoring of assets by integrated sensors. Facilities managers can set up notifications for critical pieces of equipment when the system reaches certain power or temperature thresholds to significantly reduce downtime.

Takeaway 3: Artificial Intelligence and Automation – This shouldn’t come as a surprise. AI is impacting the software world in virtually every industry. With the help of artificial intelligence, iOT devices will automatically send service requests to CMMS software when equipment breaks or schedule on-going preventative maintenance.
